Orlando Health installed ScriptCenter to better service the needs of their employees and patients. Hospital employees are incentivized to obtain their prescription medications from the hospital system, but there is no community pharmacy at South Seminole. Prescription fill rates for employees of South Seminole is extremely low in comparison to employees located at other Orlando Health facilities. Inconvenient access to prescriptions has created a hardship for these patients. South Seminole looked at delivering the prescriptions to the South Seminole hospital receptionist for pickup, but that solution would be a far less secure method of delivery compared to delivery to ScriptCenter.
After receiving approval from the Florida Board of Pharmacy, Orlando Health’s South Seminole hospital installed ScriptCenter for 24/7 prescription and OTC pickup. ScriptCenter provides the opportunity for employees to pick up and pay for their prescriptions which has increased satisfaction and improved compliance with the patients’ prescribed drug therapy.
