Staff Accountant – Manufacturing (San Diego)

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to be a key member of our small accounting and finance team in this entrepreneurial company. Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties in various accounting functions and will frequently interact with co-workers, customers, and vendors. Responsibilities include full cycle accounts receivable and accounts payable, sales and use tax returns, monthly reconciliations, fixed assets and taking on special accounting projects. This person must take initiative and be able to handle multiple deadlines as a standard process.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field and 2-5 years’ experience.
  • Great Plains experience is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with billing in WAWF and VA systems a plus.
  • Demonstrated computer software proficiency using Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains or similar accounting system, the Microsoft Office Suite, and other PC-based applications.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices relating to proofing and balancing of accounts and transactions.
  • At least 2 years previous experience processing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
  • Experience preparing general ledger journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
  • Previous accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Customer service attitude and team oriented.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time in an office environment.

Area Vice President of Sales – Hospital/Healthcare

Asteres is seeking an exceptional driven sales professional to drive sales within the hospital/healthcare segment.  We are looking for an aggressive hunter that has a proven track record of selling into hospitals at the senior management levels. The ideal candidate must possess a solid track record of successfully selling large ticket items into hospitals and healthcare systems.  Managing complex sales by cross selling into key departments such as Pharmacy, IT, Finance and Legal is required and familiarity of the implementation process of a new technology is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not limited to the following:

  • Proven track record of selling into hospitals at the senior management levels.
  • Developing and executing sales plans, initiatives and strategies for developing new business by market.
  • Driving the overall strategies and business plans to meet customer and Asteres goals.
  • Successful sales and management of complex corporate customer relationships.
  • Providing customers with business development advice and financial analysis to formulate financial plans and profit enhancing opportunities designed to point out the benefits of company products/services/technologies.
  • Managing relationships from close of sale to successful installation and implementation of product.
  • Ensure on-going attention to enhancing strong relationships with key customers in order to build/maintain the credibility required to keep the business of these customers during times of risk and to serve as references for new accounts.
  • Achieving Company revenue and profitability goals for the hospital segment.
  • Developing sales proposals, sales presentations, demonstrations, merchandising plans, and sales promotions to capture new business.
  • Be proactive in understanding the trends and issues likely to impact the market.
  • Advising the senior management team on sales directions, competitors and market trends.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of and learning about all new technical applications, products, programs, and services available to customers and for applying or utilizing them whenever appropriate or timely.
  • Updating and maintaining sales contacts and activity in Salesforce.com.

Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Proven complex solution and consultative sales experience
  • Proven ability to create and sell return on investment and corresponding implementation/ operations models
  • Proven ability to effectively manage through long term, complex sales cycles (9 – 12 months)
  • Proven ability to quickly engage, build relationships and close in the c-suite

  • Experience with Salesforce.com required

Manufacturing Associate – San Diego

We are looking for a Manufacturing Associate to join our team in our San Diego office.  This team member will be responsible for assembly in a Lean Manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate must have good communication skills, mechanical aptitude, be able to use small hand tools, work in a fast-paced production environment, be pc literate preferably in MS Office, and act as a team player to meet strict standards and production goals. Experience and familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts is highly desired. Additional responsibilities include back up field service support and assisting with purchasing and materials management. At least 2 years previous experience in a manufacturing setting required. Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screen testing.

Specific Duties, Skills and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Follow and support the established manufacturing policies and procedures
  • Hands-on assembly of complex electro-mechanical systems
  • Cable, cabinet and panel wiring experience a plus
  • Read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Use common hand tools
  • Use standard inspections tools and techniques
  • Use fork lift, hand trucks, carts and racks to handle and move product
  • Help with the development of manufacturing procedures
  • Communicate with co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Act as back-up field service support to the Field Support team maintaining installed company products at customer locations
  • Validate, maintain and update Bill(s) of Material
  • Assist with purchasing activities, including managing vendor relationships, receiving and inventory reconciliation

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have visual acuity necessary to read engineering documents and determine product quality.
  • Must be able to lift and transport equipment weighing approx. 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle equipment on casters weighing approximately 1,350 lbs.
  • Verbal and writing proficiency in English.
  • Good hand / eye coordination
  • Full range of motion in body
  • Some travel may be required

Work Experience Requirements:

  • At least two years of relevant experience in the assembly of electro-mechanical equipment. Experience in materials management and purchasing highly desired.
  • Working conditions require great mobility. Must be able to consistently move/maneuver weights up to 70 pounds.

Education:

  • High school graduate or the equivalent. An Associates degree from a technical institution is a plus.
